'Thank you so much for arranging a wonderful holiday and introducing us to the fantastic Hotel Gallo and Tignale. Your being there on day one was so lovely and informative. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful or welcoming. They made my first foreign gluten free holiday so stress free and relaxing. We enjoyed the food and wine immensely - we would love to return and explore more of Lake Garda in the future.' Alison & Nigel Sept 2019
. 'Thanks for finding us such a lovely apartment (Begonia owned by Hotel Gallo) for our stay on Garda. We loved the garden, the coolness and space in the apartment and it was so handy for everything in Tignale as well. Thanks too for your tips on the first day - it was very helpful to be able to What's App you (Gilli) for answers to any queries during our stay. Hotel Gallo staff were lovely to us and it was nice to have them there although we mainly enjoyed either cooking ourselves or getting a pizza!' Jill & Robert June 2019
'We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our holiday and thank you for recommending. It was a delightful place with such lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was all we had hoped for and the food was great. It was relaxing for me not having to worry about what I was eating. The countryside is magical and we enjoyed walking and exploring with just the sound of birdsong to accompany us. We will certaily go back again.' Mia & Ian June 2017
'We have just enjoyed the most amazing holiday at Hotel Gallo. It has been a total success and the best holiday we have experienced certainly since Amanda was diagnosed as being coeliac. We found the rooms comfortable, clean with stunning views of the lake. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating, particularly when it came to offering advice on menu options. We also took your advice and embraced the whole experience by eating lunch out in Verona, Torri del Benaco and Salò and on every occasion we found delicious gf and df options. So a massive 'Thank You' for reassuring us that the hotel understood and could provide delicious and safe food and for offering us lots of advice for making the most of our holiday'. Pete, Amanda & Hannah August 2016
'Just to say a big thank you for a great holiday - we are so impressed - can't fault it in any way. The GF provision was exceptional'. Judy & Graham July 2016.
"4 day walking holiday in Tignale. 4 of us have stayed at the Gallo previously, however our other four friends had not
They were truly amazed at the quality of the hotel, its location, the level of service and the quality of the food. The staff as always, were attentive and polite and the lake facing rooms with balcony were truly stunning By the end of the break none of us wanted to leave - we would have gladly stayed another 3-4 days. In summary I cannot praise the owners and staff enough. Each time we return it is just like visiting family Fantastic". John, Michele, Simon, Jacqui and friends June 2016.
"Hotel Gallo nothing less than superb! Everyone staying at the hotel is treated with the same care and food and wine top notch. Being a 'big' person I had a little problem with the size of the shower but even that got sorted!" Mike & Dee, Alan & Jan, James & Melissa August 2014

"We certainly enjoyed our stay in Hotel Gallo. It was marvellous to more or less eat the same diet as my husband yet still know I wouldn't get ill. On top of that everyone in the hotel made us feel welcome and it was like being part of a family. We found the facilities excellent and enjoyed being so close to the pool. Janet & Georges June 2013
" The hotel is a haven for coeliacs - the gluten free provision is extensive with a brilliant choice for breakfast which even included gf croissants and pains au chocolat. Sitting on the terrace for breakfast and dinner we had breathtaking views of Lake Garda below us and the mountains across the lake." Sue & Ian July 2012

This small hotel, right in the main village of Tignale, run by Fulvia and Renato has become a real favourite, well known for its good food and friendly atmosphere. (There has to be a reason why Trip Advisor has classed the hotel as excellent!) All the rooms are en suite many with balcony and lake facing. There is an on site swimming pool, small health club with jacuzzi, sun bed, turkish bath and the possibility of booking massage and various beauty treatments plus a panoramic terrace from where there are views onto the lake below and Monte Baldo opposite. What could be better than 'al fresco' dining in the summer sitting on the terrace admiring the view!
Just a few metres from the hotel are the S. Pietro apartments, 4 x 2 bedroom flats for maximum 6 persons all tastefully furnished with living/kitchen area, bathroom, balcony and lake view and possibility of air conditioning. This now brings the number of available apartments within 60 metres of the hotel to 6 that can be booked either self catering or half board with meals in Hotel Gallo. Use of hotel facilities included in the price. For more apartments see La Dolce Vita Relais.
Coeliac guests are given a very warm welcome and will find a separate breakfast buffet and a choice of menu for the evening meal. For several years now to make sure there is no chance of cross contamination all flour, breadcrumbs etc used in the kitchen are gluten free!
At the northern end of Lake Garda where the lake ends and the spectacular Brenta Dolomites begin lies the town of Riva del Garda. Just a few minutes walk from the old town with its narrow streets and the shores of the lake with its pebble beach is Hotel Villa Nicolli, a 4 star hotel set in its own garden with outdoor swimming pool and a full Spa including Himalayan salt cave, Turkish bath, bio sauna, vitae path and relax area and a heated indoor salt water pool with big picture windows facing onto the garden. You will find the emphasis is on quality, whether it be the furnishings in the public rooms, the lounge has big comfortable armchairs or the bedrooms, many of them recently refurbished and all with balcony or terrace many with views towards the vineyards and mountains. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast each day from 07.00 - 10.00, lunch or a snack is available often served at the pool so there is no problem as to where to go to find something to eat! In the evening dinner with a choice from an à la carte menu, salad bar, dessert and cheese trolley is served in the main restaurant. For several years now the hotel has catered for coeliac guests and is accredited by the Italian Coeliac Society so, rest assured, all coeliacs will be well looked after.
"Hotel la Palma is excellent, a top class hotel with a fantastic restaurant. The staff went to great lengths to cater for my wife's gluten free diet. The Sky Bar was a real treat, and the easy stroll into Stresa town makes a great after dinner walk. Parking at the hotel was easy". Robert & Rita. August 2014
"Hotel La Palma is well worth the extra cost for a hotel of such standards; the food in the restaurant was of top quality and the choice for breakfast was excellent, the restaurant staff so helpful ensuring we had the best table available at all times. The Sky Bar is just the place to sit and have a sun downer and the view onto Lake Maggiore and the islands is very relaxing. Having its own private beach and swimming pool is a plus too. The hotel is also ideally situated just a short walk into the centre of Stresa." Mike & Dee, Alan & Jan, James & Melissa August 2014
Hotel La Palma, facing the lake and the Borromean Islands, is a very elegant 4 star hotel in the town of Stresa on Lake Maggiore situated on the main promenade with its liberty style hotels. The emphasis is on quality from the large comfortable lounge and bar, the beautifully furnished restaurant to the light and airy rooms all with balcony and many with lake view towards the famous Borromean islands. Even if you are not very energetic don't miss out on the health club on the 6th floor for a sauna, steam bath or beauty treatments or where you can work out in the small gym, while admiring the magnificent view of the mountains or the lake! Even more relaxing is the roof top Sky Pool with its sun loungers or the Sky Bar, open daily from midday until late evening weather permitting. All the bedrooms are en suite and have bath with incorporated jacuzzi rather than just shower. Coeliac guests are very welcome.
